This update adds a lot of compatibility for newer version of windows and several technical new features. As such there will be a short beta to make sure everything works on every version of windows before release.
Main features of this update:
Reworked how Alt1 gets pixels from your screen. Alt1 can now see your rs window even while it is hidden behind a different window and detection is much quicker.
Alt1 is now compatible with high dpi setups. This means that Alt1 can now detect the rs window properly, even when it is stretched/blurred out by windows 8.1 display scaling.
Alt1 is now DPI-aware this means that interfaces wont look blurry any more on high dpi screens.
You can now add apps by clicking alt1 links in your default browser, a confirmation dialog will show before the app is opened.
Reworked the way you add apps, it should be a lot more straightforward now. The app permissions are shown before the app is opened.
You can now open the same app twice by right-clicking it in the quick menu. Only the position of the first app is remembered.
There is no installer for the pre-release, so you will have to install it manually using the steps below.
Download the Alt1 1.1.0-pre zip package
Right-click the zip and choose 'Extract all'
Now select the folder where you want to place the files, it is recommended to make a new folder.
You can now run the file called 'Alt1 Toolkit' to start Alt1.
You can create a shortcut by right-clicking 'Alt1 Toolkit' and selecting 'create shortcut'. You can move the shortcut to your desktop for easy access.
(Edit: Did you want reports about this here or in the Issues section?)
Thanks for all your work Skillbert, this will be an exciting release!
Win 7 SP1
When starting Alt1 I get a message: "Alt1 is already running on this computer. Check the system tray on the bottom right of your screen". That happens every time Alt1 is opened including first launch after rebooting the PC. It opens normally after that though.
The icons in the XP Meter settings are a bit wonky:

I'm glad it works in windows 7, i was quite worried about that actually.
The icon fix is ready, but i can't really upload it without uploading everything on the server.
Alt1 doesn't actually start after showing the already running dialog. You might still have Alt1 running on the background somewhere. I'm not completely sure how it could happen at system startup, it be because you installed Alt1 back in the 0.0.2 era.
