the timer is simply off by a few seconds, it always triggers when it has ten additional seconds on the counter. I'm doing powerful communions and the rituals are about 83 seconds long. thank you in advance.

Is that not the final disturbance alert? Or do you not have them enabled?

I have different sounds notifications for each: one for the completion and one of the disturbance. I can assure you that the sound I hear at 10-11 seconds left of the ritual is that of the completion's notification. now that I used alt1 quite substantially for necromancy, I've noticed that sometimes the sound for completion would trigger at 11, 7 and sometimes the 3 sec mark. which I find very annoying

Can confirm this happens to me as well. Would be nice if there are more customizability to the Rituals alert module. E.g. like how the buff alerts work where you can set the initial count and at what number should the alert sound.
