The reason for the app-less approach is so the user doesn't forget to launch the app and miss out on those pictures they can never get back, unless a feature is added to auto re-launch previously opened apps.
Remember the days of Swiftkit? Remember how you never asked it to screenshot your achievements, but then you took a trip down memory lane one day when you realized it automatically took screenshots of level ups, etc? Let's revive that.
This addition would take screenshots in the background and just save them to a Screenshots folder (by default in an alt1 directory maybe in the user home directory?). Users would be able to tick the categories of which to auto screenshot. Images would be saved in PNG format for lossless quality.
Events that would trigger the auto screenshot:
- Clue scroll loot interfaces
- Quest completion interfaces
- Level up pop ups
- Xp achievements
- Golden beams
- World broadcasts
