Simple app which tracks the status of the upcoming Wilderness Flash Event and notifies you when it is about to start.
Also features a wiki button which opens a wiki page of the upcoming event.
Settings:
- Toggle notifications up to 5 minutes before an event starts
- Toggle an additional notification 1 - 300 seconds (default: 30s) before the next event is about to start, can also be used without ticking the original 5 minute notification
- Show cursor tooltip when an event is about to start. Stays until the screen is clicked
- Only track special events
- Resizable mode (shows timer/event name/location based on window dimensions; hover over the timer to see name of the next event)
Also works in regular web browsers
Click here to add Wilderness Event Tracker to Alt1
Or go to this URL in the Alt1 browser: https://lahe.github.io/wilderness-events/
Source code:
https://github.com/Lahe/wilderness-events
Edit:
Added resizable mode setting
Added cursor tooltip setting
(2024-02-05) Added new WildyWyrm event
(2024-07-10) Added an additional notification with a configurable timer (min: 1s, max: 300s, default: 30s) before the next event is about to start, can also be used without ticking the original 5 minute notification. Useful when the original notification rings but you get sidetracked and miss the event.

Might it be possible to add a sound effect/alarm that will alert as well? Maybe one that continues until the screen is clicked or something similar to AFK Warden?
PS This is fantastic as is regardless, thank you.

Sorry for the delay. I added a new setting for a cursor tooltip that stays until the screen is clicked. Re-add the app to Alt1 to fix permission issues.

Awesome, I also found AFK Warden also now has a Periodic Events Alert that has Wilderness events added to it as well, setting voice alarms for this works well. No need to apologize, we all get busy and you do everyone a favor coding for Alt1, thank you

Is there any chance for a slimmer version? Just so it fits into UI better

That's pretty much what the "Make resizable" setting is meant for. Try resizing the app window with the setting enabled.

The app doesn't work!
Looks like the website source (https://lahe.github.io/wilderness-events/) is offline!

Opened the link... looks like it's working just fine?

Solved, thanks. It was a problem with my Internet Provider

Hello, this app is an hour behind for me. Is there any reason for this? It's also an hour behind on the github website. I've tried changing my clock in case that was the reason, but it stayed the same.

Cross-referencing the app and the wiki, it appears to be correct.

I don't know why, but I reset my clock again and also reset the wiki page and it updated it to the correct time.

not sure if timer is broken or not... but not getting the 5 mins pre notification, unless i have rs up, (which partially defeats the purpose) sometimes not even then (yes i have it checked on) should be working in tandem with my computers notification system

Hey friend you gotta have the app open for it to work and unpin from rs window in settings then itll work whenever

Is it possible to get the time + next event in the Runescape windows bar?
I remember having a Wilderness app previously that had this, but I fresh-installed Windows.

That's probably the base D&D Tracker.

Oh that's what it was. Good to know, thank you.

I love this app! I had to reinstall with new comp, and re-find it. I hope sometime this can be added to the main app. And base app for timer is also info I needed. Thanks!

How does this work to show notifications early when the RS app is closed?
I can't get it to work without keeping the overlay on screen, which is very awkward when I'm doing work.
The base D&D tracker could do something like this without any window open (but not 5 min early) and alt1 running in the background.

You can of course just close alt1 as well when you're doing work?

You can keep https://lahe.github.io/wilderness-events/ open in a browser tab and enable notifications for the website. It will send notifications the same way as if Alt1 was open.

No you can't, it doesn't activate in the background like D&D notifications does. You need an active overlay window on-screen.

Okay thanks.
Although not sure what is the difference then between using this and the wiki's notification for flash events. Not trying to sound rude, but not sure what this app offers over other alternatives. If you could get notification popups with the app running in the background, I think this will be great to use.
