Flashing during slider puzzles

It began after I updated a few weeks ago. During slider clue puzzles my screen will begin to flash while it is telling me where to click giving me eyestrain. It will have these black squares flash constantly over the puzzle.

I had to mess around a lot with the overlay to stop it from flickering completely on my computer as well as allowing it to update quickly.
In what way is it flickering exactly? Is it the left or right type?

It was flickering like the one on the right. During my next clue I'll try to record and edit the post here with the short video. What did you do to fix it? I've already tried changing my refresh rate just to see if that could cause the problem. I was just capturing the Runescape window so it doesn't show the white boxes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQA6eVr2NgY

I mean when i tested the last update. I thought i found a way around the flickering when it stopped on my computer. There is nothing you can do about it. I'll make it a bit more lazy with the next update, which will reduce the chance of flickering.

Even with the recent updates it's still flashing like mad during puzzles
